The Next New (Old) Thang.

Well, if you know me at all by now you will know that I HEART COCONUTS. So I’m sure you will appreciate what a big leap it is for me to tell you what I’m about to tell you.

Aloe Vera is not new. It’s been around for donkeys (as in 16th century kind of donkeys). But the great thing about things coming back in fashion is they become much more accessible. Not great if you’re coveting Isabel Marant’s latest shoe creation (they’ll either a) be sold out or b) on everyone else’s feet). But flipping fantastic if you are looking to source a healthy snack easily without having to grow an aloe vera plant yourself or find a farm in the middle of London.

The benefits of aloe vera are numerous. In fact, this stuff is pretty much a miracle worker… A natural medicine for cancer, cholesterol, diabetes, inflammation, IBS just to name a few. It’s good for your digestion, can assist your immune system and can relieve pain and inflammation. Plus it will hydrate your skin and accelerate skin repair. Not bad going for a little plant huh?

Now don’t fret. I still love all things coconut. But I also like to mix it up a little. Which is why I want to tell you that I’ve found this ultra cool brand called Alo ( These guys pair aloe vera juice with tropical little flavours and one of their products – Coco Exposed – combines Aloe PLUS the water from young coconuts. I mean seriously. Can you even imagine my excitement?! TICKETY-BOO. And as if that’s not enough (I’ll be honest, you had me at coconut) these digital savvy dudes have set up free music downlaoads that have been originally crafted for each flavour. Is that cool or what gen-y?!

I guess at the end of the day trends are trends, but the great thing about NATURAL is that is where it all BEGAN. So actually we are just going back. Which if you ask me, is progress.
